Preserving Tradition, and Protecting Land in Hawaiʻi
Many Native Hawaiians continue to practice traditional customs, such as hula, fishing, farming (loʻi kalo and loko iʻa), and mālama ʻāina (caring for the land). Efforts to revitalize the Hawaiian language through immersion schools and cultural programs have strengthened their identity despite past suppression.
